Today was the day that the birds laughed and waved at us....

While birding Higbee this morning, Laura noted that we were tallying species that our team dipped on (or missed) during our WSB big day. Just to give you examples. We usually get Scarlet Tanager, none on big day...three today at the back of the third field at Higbee. Hairy Woodpecker, we had four spots on Cape Island that we should have gotten this species. Today, one flew over from the back of the second tower field, calling and making all sorts of a ruckus. Ovenbird, not sure why we missed this on on the big day, had at least two today. Cedar Waxwing......I'd rather not discuss this miss but there were multiples flying over today. At least one Eastern Wood-Pewee calling from the woods today. Lastly, a Hooded Warbler was singing this morning in the vicinity of the eastern side of the first field at Higbee, as well as, a lone Swamp Sparrow that was skulking low in the shrubs in the second field. Now, my question, where were these birds on Saturday?!!!

So, below is the list for birding Higbee today and below that, a list for our short walk yesterday.
