Double Rainbow over the Meadows; Yellow Warblers moving tonight

[Double Rainbow. Photographed from the South Cape May Meadows by Karl Lukens, 8/8/08. Click to enlarge]

Karl & Judy Lukens, along with Chuck & Mary Jane Slugg, reported the following avian (and non-avian) gems at the Meadows this evening:

"...Started off with a quick passing shower and a double rainbow. Nice variety of shorebirds, good looks at Glossy Ibis, both yellowlegs together and several Spotted and Solitary Sandpipers."

A walk to the north end of Reed's Beach around 10:00pm this evening produced numerous Yellow Warblers calling overhead, and NEXRAD radar indicates that there is likely a small movement of passerines occurring over the region. Might be an interesting morning at Higbee tomorrow.
