Hybrid Warbler, Painted Bunting, Northern Bobwhite

[Cerulean Warbler? Look again. . . Michael O'Brien and Louise Zemaitis found this bird, a possible Cerulean Warbler X Northern Parula, during CMBO's Warbler Workshop at Head of River near Belleplain. Michael reports that its song had the pattern of a Northern Parula but the louder, richer, more ringing quality of a Cerulean, and speculates that the parula song pattern means that the father was the Parula. Clarifying the location of Mark Garland's female Painted Bunting at the Rea Farm, a.k.a. The Beanery, this morning: the bird was near the Willow Pond or Oxbow Pond, i.e. the pond nearest Bayshore Road along the dirt lane.

Pete Dunne reports that he heard a Northern Bobwhite at Beaver Swamp WMA, from the dike, yesterday.
