CMBO's 1st Thursday Morning BELLEPLAIN Walk

Indeed, it is that time of year again. Karl & Judy Lukens checked in with the following report from the first Belleplain walk of the season. There are two such walks a week, on Thursday and Saturday mornings. Both meet at 7:30am at the forest Field Office located off of Route 550, near Woodbine in northern Cape May County.

The Lukens' summary and walk list:
"The first CMBO Belleplain Walk of the spring kicked off this morning and it was a cold start - 29 to 43 degrees - as usual for early April. We got the early target birds; 6 Yellow-throated Warblers and seen, 1 singing Louisiana Waterthrush heard, 2 Blue-Gray Gnatcatchers 1 seen 1 heard, and a number of Pine Warblers seen and heard. Also 3 Hermit Thrushes cavorting together, 4 Turkeys seen by a few, E. Phoebes on a nest site, 1 Wood Duck, and a calling Red-shouldered hawk."
