It's Quiet - But Don't Give Up!

It seems like it's a pretty quiet day out there today; a chilly, sunny start but now clouding over and looking ominous. The Ivory Gull still continues at the Bree-Zee Lee Marina on Ocean Drive, along the north side of Cape May Harbor, while Doug Gochfeld reports a Harlequin Duck still hanging out at the main jetty at Avalon.

Elsewhere, it's a reasonable bet that the Eurasian Wigeons are still on Lighthouse Pond - the three males I saw the other day are all pretty easy to identify now as they gradually attain an adult-type plumage.

If you're stuck for ideas, try the edges of open fields and woods as there's a good movement of Fox Sparrows at the moment. American Robins, Cedar Waxwings and White-throated Sparrows are all still plentiful and even a few Grey Catbirds hang on. Don't forget to let us know if you have a good find!
