Karl Lukens reported an adult Baird's Sandpiper from Cape May Point State Park around noon today. The bird was last seen flying off to the east, toward the plover ponds and the South Cape May Meadows.
There was a decent passerine flight at Higbee this morning, with at least 13 species of warblers recorded, including the first Blackburnian of the season. Additionally, I noted several American Redstarts and Yellow Warblers passing overhead in Stone Harbor as I headed into work at 7am.
Also, this walk summary: "It was a 'birdy' CMBO Walk at the Cape May Point State Park this morning. Good shorebirds and land birds. Good numbers of warblers and gnatcatchers. Again a nice scope view of a Northern Waterthrush."
