This is the Cape May Birding Hotline, a service of New Jersey Audubon Society's Cape May Bird Observatory. This week's message was prepared on Friday, December 03, 2010. Highlights this week include sightings of ASH-THROATED FLYCATCHER, WHITE-WINGED DOVE, LITLE GULL, SEDGE WREN, ICELAND GULL, COMMON REDPOLL, RAZORBILL, SANDHILL CRANE, BLACK-LEGGED KITTIWAKE
Two reports of ASH-THROATED FLYCATCHER have come in over the past week, both from Hidden Valley WMA. Both were found in the 1st field, with one report from Monday, November 29th, 2010 and the other from Friday, December 3rd, 2010.
A WHITE-WINGED DOVE was observed at the CMBO Northwood Center feeders on Thursday, December 2nd, 2010.
An adult LITTLE GULL flew by the Avalon Seawatch, by itself, on Friday, November 26th, 2010.
Two, possibly three, SEDGE WRENS were located at Turkey Point Road on Sunday, November 28th, 2010.
An ICELAND GULL was found on the South Cape May Meadows beachfront on Wednesday, December 1st, 2010.
A COMMON REDPOLL was found at the 3rd (westernmost) field of Hidden Valley on Friday, November 26th, 2010.
The Avalon Seawatch recorded a RAZORBILL going south on Friday, November 26th, 2010.
A SANDHILL CRANE was observed flying over Cape Island Creek preserve on Thursday, December 2nd, 2010.
An adult BLACK-LEGGED KITTIWAKE flew by the Hawkwatch on Saturday, November 27th, 2010.
